Hello everyone!

I'm new to the world of microcontrollers. I'm trying to design a master-slave system with LPC804 (master) and Eaton PLC (slave). The system has to be connected via Modbus RTU, but I have no idea how to make the hardware connection between the microcontroller and the PLC. Do I need some kind of external component? Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Hello, my name is Pavel, and I will be supporting your case, the protocol Modbus can be mounted on UART, for long distances you will need a transceiver, that makes the communication of tx and rx to the differential. The way to know what transceiver you need is by reviewing how the PLC supports this protocol.

Best regards,
Pavel
