Hi

for a concept car I need to drive a SPI based LED strip (ws2812) . In this project RGB information to drive the LEDs will be received via can protocol. So input from CAN output VIA SPI.

I have some s32k experience, but S32K is too expensive and seems to be an overdrive for this project. Then I thought of a Kinetis, but Kinetis is not on the list of my customers (major car brand) allowed processors(S32k is on the list).

Does NXP have a different processor in his portfolio which is cheaper?

Is Kinetis already outdated?

Actually I dont see Kinetis on vector's list of processors eithers! Whsy is that?

Thx

Hi,

Well, for the Automotive application, besides the S32K, we really has much chip family resource to support it, for example S08,S12 and MPC5. I am attaching here a quite useful document for your reference/selection.
