What can I do if my FRDM-KL25Z has the microboot kernel version 1.03?

You have to update the micro-bootloader with a new version from P&E, see
note that ideally you have a Windows 7 machine for this.
If not, follow Recovering OpenSDA Boards with Windows 10 | MCU on Eclipse
I hope this helps,
Thanks. I know about the steps explained in MCU on Eclipse, but I no longer use windows for these cases that bother me for 30 years; I prefer to exchange FRDM-KL25Z for a newer product that already starts with linux. Sorry for my position on this.
