I'll point once more to the elephant in the room.
On a new K60 kit, the PE Micro virtual serial port seems to work as it should using the resident pre-flashed example that ships with the kit. After following the lab instructions to update the OSJTAG firmware to the latest release (i.e. v30) the PE Micro virtual serial port no longer functions correctly. Downgrading to v27 of the firmware does not help.
Does anyone have the virtual serial port working with the example code, and if so, what version of drivers and firmware are you using?
Thank you!

P & E Micro has posted the latest firmware (v30.07) on their P&E Micro OSBDM Page. Just click on the Firmware Updates and Recovery link to download and install, and then run the Firmware Upgrade Utility to upgrade to version 30.07 (should be selected by default). Then your virtual COM port should work.
Props to MK_User for the find.
