I've used the USB Multilink Universal with a K60 Tower board and it works fine. The advantage to the Multilink is that its drivers permit an adjustable transfer rate. I have cranked the Multilink's transfer rate up to 500 kbps when debugging on the tower board without problems.
However, be aware that the Multilink does not supply power to the board. You'll need a separate connection and supply to do that. If you get the elevator boards along with the tower board, then you can plug the OSBDM cable that came with the kit into the connector on the elevator board and provide power that way. The Multilink attaches to the K60 board via a ribbon cable onto a BDM debug header, not through a USB connector. Do NOT connect the OSBDM cable to the tower board's connector while using the Multilink. That will not work.
I hope this helps.
