Linkserver does not program MK70FX512VMJ12

Hello,
I purchased the MCU-LINK-PRO so I can install a bootloader for the MK70FX512VMJ12.
in the product info for the MCU-LINK-PRO is mentioned that is able to program the K70-120 family.
please provide some hints, any help appreciated.

however, when trying to install I get the following message:

I have created a K70 file for you.

Please unpack the zip file and place the JSON file inside the following folder:

<LinkServerInstallationPath>\devices

If you start now LinkFlash, you should see the K70:

I only have the K70FN1M device, and it worked for me:

Can you try this for your K70FX512 too and report back?

Hello @dodocolby 

Please refer to the MCU-LINK PRO User Manual, section 3.2 “Updating MCU-Link Pro Firmware”, and update the firmware accordingly. I  recommend you update it to j-link firmware.

If the issue still persists, please provide a video or screenshots showing your steps. I will help check and analyze the issue.

Hello,
I ran the program_CMSIS.cmd from the scripts of MCU-LINK_installer_3.172.
(running the program_JLINK.cmd results in the device not appear as probe in linkserver).

Then I run linkflash.exe that calls linkserver version v26.3.123.
K70 is not enumerated (no device has k70 in their name).
I choose Protocol SWD, Nothing for Wirespeed, the same "Generic arm-4:" as device I ran into the same problem:

However, I chose another device that seems to have similar characteristics to the MK70 I have:  MK64FX512xxx12:FRDM-K64F instead of MK70FX512VMJ12. That programming resulted in success:

Nc: Sectors written: 20, unchanged: 0, total: 20
Nc: Closing flash driver FTFE_4K.cfx
Pb: (100) Finished writing Flash successfully.
Nt: Loaded 0x13424 bytes in 874ms (about 90kB/s)
Nt: Reset target (system)
Nc: Starting execution using system reset

The big question now is if that is ok to choose the other device, because MK64 is a different family than MK70?

Thanks for your reply.

I have checked LinkFlash, and it does not support the MK70. If the flash size and address are identical between the MK64 and MK70, using the MK64 might be an option to try.

However, a more reliable method is to use J-link firmware on MCU-link.

run program_JLINK.md under
LinkServer_25.6.131\MCU-LINK_installer\scripts
to update the MCU‑Link firmware to J‑Link, and then use the J‑Flash tool to connect to the K70 and program it.
