We are trying to design a custom board for access control using K81 secure controller. Here I wish to add two USB interfaces,One as MicroUSB (for device,can be used to power the board) and other as Type A USB(for Host). Plz. suggest how it can be done as I observes only single USB connection in controller.
Looking forward for early inputs.
Hi
The K81 has one LS/FS USB controller.
You could use a dummy device connector just for charging and connect an OTG connector for host/device operations.
Alternatively you may be able to connect the USB wires to two connectors as long as only one is connected at a time - in this case you may need a configuration to switch between device and host modes.

Thankyou Mark.
Plz. clarify ;
1-- If I want to use use microUSB for power and debugging. And Type A USB for Host, how can it be done. Both may be used simultaneous too.
2- Can u please help me understand your above reply with any reference design available at your end.
3-I am not bale to find USB pins in K81,can you plz. point it out.
Thanks to you.
Hi
Maybe you could put an OpenSDA K20 on the board to give it debugging capability and USB device - then use the K81's USB as host on the other connector?
The USB pins are called USB0_DP and USB0_DM.

Mark
