I am using 32.768KHz crystal on XTALs for RTC application. I wonder Why this particular value?

Can anyone provide a reason for it plz?

Hello,

That is the standar value for RTC's crystals. Just because if you divide 32.768 KHz by :

2,4,8,16,32,.....1024, 2048,...,32768  .you always get an integer value.

32.768 Khz/32768 = one exact second
