Freedom Board boot loader update

I purchased the FRDM-KE02Z40M to run the example projects on before adding the features to my embedded project on a custom board. My computer has Windows 10 operating system.

I read on stack overflow someone had a problem, so they used a Windows 7 computer and updated the bootloader. Then the freedom board worked on the newer computer. So I downloaded the MSD-DEBUG-FRDM-KE02Z_Pemicro_v118.SDA.  I hold down the reset button, plug the cable in, release the button, open the bootloader directory and drag MSD Debug file in, and un plug the cable and re-install the cable.  The Bootloader file, LASTSTAT.TXT says programming and the error light 8 flashes and 2 seconds off signals a problem.  I cannot get past this, what do I need to do?

Not sure if you say you are using a Win7 computer (that's what I would suggest).

The important thing is that you have to update first the bootloader and then the app.

See https://mcuoneclipse.com/2014/11/01/illustrated-step-by-step-instructions-updating-the-freescale-fre... for the steps.

I hope this helps,
