Where can I find the source code for the little PC application in AN4764? This thread contains a zip file with the processor source code.
I have it running on the MKL25Z128 and it's a great little thing. I love the small size. We'd really like to make some edits to the little PC application though (for example right now it crashes if you try to connect to a board when the board's not plugged in.) Can somebody post the source?
Thanks.
You can get the source code of the PC application of the AN4764 under NDA, contact your local distributor or enter a SR for more information
Have a nic day :P,
Perla

Hi
I have noticed that there is a (new) Windows GUI updater application in the FSL_Kinetis_Bootloader_1_0_1 package "winupdater.exe".
It looks to also allow HID uploading.
Will this one effectively replace the "HIDBootloader.exe" from AN4764? Will the HID operation nevertheless be the same/compatible?
Regards
Mark
Yes, the FSL_Kinetis_Bootloader_1_0_1 could be a good replacement because this not only support USB HID, it also support UART, SPI, I2C or CAN.
Here is important to notice that code for appication note AN4764 and Kinetis_Bootloader are not the same.

Perla
Do you know whether that the HID loader uses the same protocol in both cases?
Regards
Mark
Excuse me but I did not understand, what you mean in both? both bootloaders?
Perla
Yes, I was asking whether the HID loading operation in KBOOT is the same as the operation used by HIDbootloader.exe (i.e. compatible) or whether it has been redesigned (uses a different set of commands etc.)
Regards
Mark
As I understand these bootloaders are in fact different and each one use different methods
Perla
OK.- thanks.
Is there any news on next KBOOT version availability since it looks like the present version tends not to launch on Windows 7 systems and has other compatibility problems.
Regards
Mark
The same problem occurred at my side as well. The winupdater.exe can not be launched even if Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 has been installed correctly.
Hi Perla,
Bootloader101, runinng with MK22FX ?
have ( Binary image boot ) there binary to be programmed?
have ( host.exe ) update binary ?
compiling error here...
thenks,
Carlos.
At this moment the FSL_Kinetis_Bootloader_1_0_1 only supports the following Kinetis MCUs: K24F, K63F, K64F, KL14Z, KL15Z, KL24Z, KL25Z, KL02Z. (This is mentioned on the Bootloader page).
Regard compile error could you please share a screen print or error description?
Hi Perla
I have been trying to test FSL_Kinetis_1_0_1's "winupdater.exe" but it won't launch on my Windows 7 PC. I have installed the Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5 as instructed (and rebooted the PC) but it hasn't helped.
Are there any tips to make it operate?
Regards
Mark
Hi Perla,
Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5. does not work in winXP (SP3).
how to solve?.
most of my clients still using winXP.
Framework3.5 works in winXP3.
heve solution for winXP?
thanks,
Carlos.
On the Kinetis K64 Bootloader Quick Start Guide is mention that this application is only supported for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. :smileysad:

Hi, I'm just getting started with the FRDM-K64 board, and I've installed .NET 4.5 on my 64-bit W7 machine, but still have had no luck launching the winupdater.exe application. Are there any other known prerequisites for this tool aside from .NET 4.5?
Has anyone run this on a W7 machine?
Thanks,
Ed
Ed
I can confirm that I also can't launch the program on a Windows 7 32 bit machines, with .NET 4.5 installed.
Once there is a new release I will be trying again. In the meantime there is a loader for the FRDM-K64F that allows USB HID with the original AN4764 program as well as SD card or Web server loading: https://community.freescale.com/thread/322132

Thanks Mark,
Sure would be nice if Freescale would just open-source these tools.
