Base the next KDS on IntelliJ CLion

I have been using IntelliJ IDEs for many years, and it's hard to even begin to describe how vastly superior IntelliJ is to Eclipse. Suffice to say: with CLion's remote debugging support release CLion 2016.2 EAP: Remote GDB debug | CLion Blog I just wanted to plea with the Kinetis Design Studio development team to consider an IntelliJ CLion-based KDS product in the future.

P.S. For those unfamiliar with IntelliJ IDEs, here's a list of common ones:

IDEA, Android Studio, PyCharm, RubyMine, AppCode, PHPStorm, WebStorm, CLion

I second Jacob's opinion on this. It would be a HUGE productivity improvement for the community to switch to CLion instead of Eclipse. In addition they have free versions of their tools for the hobbyist so you wouldn't lose anything but only increase the quality. It makes a HUGE difference.

Hi Jacob,

this is definitely an interesting idea, since IntelliJ IDEs are high quality software. Sure it's worth to discuss, but I doubt it can happen anytime soon (if ever). The change would mean changing everything (the whole world and philosophy...).

Regards,

Michal
