Hi! Did someone try this version in Windows 10? I'm not able to convert a project or create a new one. In first case it just hangs on "Upgrading project" (but backup is created), in second case it hangs on "Downloading".

Anyone experiencing this issue?

Hi @RaRo.

In the end I found out that it was a problem with network setup on that PC. GUI-Guider v1.6.1 is working as expected, sorry for the hassle.

Best regards,

Paolo

Hi Raul, thank you for your reply.

I reinstalled GUI_Guider v1.6.1 but I have the same issue (I have internet connection thru a proxy). Process seems to be working, but it's stuck on "Updating project" message, project file is untouched.

Best regards,

Paolo

Hello @paolog,

If possible, could you please tell us a guide to try and replicate your issue on our side?

In a New Project, which LVGL version, Board Template, Template or Local Project and other characteristics did you use?

Is the same behavior happening while you create a New Project from the Start window and from File -> New?

Best regards, Raul.

Hi @RaRo .

I don't have a chance to use File->New as there's no way to leave the Create/Open/Import screen.

I try to create a new project with LVGL 8.3.5, select Simulator/EmptyUI and I accept the default parameters. The bar with Download appears and I'm stuck there. The folder with the new project is not created. The process seems to be active but no network activity is shown. What should it be downloading?

I also tried LVGL 8.3.5, MCX-N9XX-BRK, Button Counter template, same thing: stuck on Downloading, no project folder is created.

Best regards,

Paolo

Hello @paolog,

Could you please test the software in another computer? Are you using a 64bit or 32bit Windows10 computer or which OS do you have? Have you had similar problems with the GUI GUIDER 1.6.0 version?

Also, could you please test creating a new project changing the Project Directory location? Have you tried opening the software as Run as Administrator?

Best regards, Raul.

Hi @RaRo.

I'll try on a different computer, issue is on a 64bit Windows 10 where version 1.6.0 works as expected.

I also installed the offline examples but still the "Downloading" message appears.

I already tried to run as Administrator with same result. I will try changing the project directory, then.

Best regards,

Paolo

EDIT

Changing the project directory didn't work either. I tried on a Windows 7 64bit computer with direct connection to Internet, and this version works just fine, new project and project conversion.

Hello @paolog,

Just for double check, could you please test the 64bit Windows 10 computer with a direct connection to internet instead of using a proxy as you mentioned before?

Also, could you please try changing the installation location of the software?

Best regards, Raul.

Hi @RaRo .

I tried a different location, but still didn't work.

It works on a Windows 10 machine with direct connection to the internet, though. I would look into how the program manages proxy connections...

Best regards,

Paolo

Hello @paolog,

I tried on a Windows 7 64bit computer with direct connection to Internet, and this version works just fine, new project and project conversion.

Since it works out for you in a Windows 7 (64 bit) computer, could you please try the following in your Windows 10 (64 bit) computer?

  • Right-click on the GUI-Guider-1.6.1-GA,
  • Go to Properties,
  • Click on Compatibility,
  • Either select Run compatibility troubleshooter and select Windows 7, or in Compatibility mode, check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 7,
  • Click on Apply or OK and,
  • Open the GUI-Guider-1.6.1-GA software.

Best regards, Raul.

Hi @RaRo

I tried that but I have the same issue. At this point I will stay with the previous version, and I'll wait for next release to upgrade.

Thank you for your help,

Paolo

Hello @paolog,

We have tested in our side without any issue.

Could you please re-install the GUI-Guider v1.6.1 again? While creating a new project, could you please make sure you have internet connection?

Best regards, Raul.
