Enterprise storage solutions from Freescale with high availability in all aspects of the design will be discussed in this session. Dual socket design with redundant chip-to-chip interconnect, over 80G of network connectivity, redundant power, redundant SAS connectivity to HDD's and multiple NVMe SSD's for high IOPs are some of the core features of this storage solution. Ability to offload storage traffic (iSCSI and FCoE), RAID5/6 offload using AltiVec, RDMA across SRIO along with SEC, DCE and PME engines with optional C29x cards makes this an ideal enterprise-class, secure data center storage solution.

Curtiss-Wright will discuss the vital role that Freescale’s Power Architecture® and ARM® processors play today in rugged COTS-based embedded aerospace and defense applications where SWaP-C constraints demand low-power computing without compromise in harsh, deployed environments.  Such applications benefit greatly from Freescale’s ability to meet the STRESS requirements (S-Security, T-Trusted Computing, R-Reliability/Rugged, E-Embedded, S-Safety Certifiable, Support-Long Lifecycle Supply) typical of these markets. Through application examples we show how open architecture modules based on these devices provide processing solutions for airborne and ground combat vehicles, commercial embedded, as well as addressing requirements for ancillary markets which include National Infrastructure applications such as Power Plants, Power Grid, Security and Homeland Protection.

Learn the major components of an Automotive Traction Inverter by walking through a prototype hardware and software design. I will be highlighting our IGBTs, GDICs, micros, and voltage / frequency (V/F) software to control an induction motor. This class provides a solid foundation on motor control and inverter design and an excellent class for engineers that are involved with EV systems but not yet motor control experts.

PROFIBUS, CAN and RS232 are extensively used in communications networks in factories, buildings, transport infrastructures and monitoring/control equipment in our cities. Ethernet offers higher bandwidth and, in many cases, lowers cost--especially when deployed in daisy-chain topology. Technologies such as EtherCAT, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP are testament to this. In this session, we will explore how QorIQ processor families can help equipment manufacturers span this landscape using a QUICC Engine (QE) controller for UART/Ethernet-based protocol implementation, a Enhanced Triple Speed Ethernet Controller (eTSEC) for intelligent Ethernet classification and 2-port switching, and an eight-port gigabit Ethernet switch for wire-rate switching. Reference design software and hardware files will be available to help you start your own PROFIBUS and PROFINET designs. Presented by Hao Sun Presented at DwF Digital Networking Shenzhen - January 28, 2015 Session ID: APF-IND-T0049

Beginning 2016, the European New Car Assessment program (NCAP) will allocate increased scoring measures for pedestrian detection capabilities. This means that any car fitted with technologies that enable detection of a pedestrian in a hazardous situation and as a result perform collision avoidance measures shall be rewarded with an increased NCAP score. These systems must be designed and manufactured based on a solid automotive development flow. This session will address the vision processing requirements for pedestrian detection and provide training on how vision algorithms may be implemented to respond to NCAP requirements in a safe, secure and reliable way.
