Hello,
Our PCB manufacturer has reported us shortage on the processor MC68332ACEH20, I see as drop in replacement the processor MC68332ACEH25.
It seems to me that the only difference is that MC68332ACEH25 has capability to run faster than MC68332ACEH20.
I'm going to go deep into the Datasheet and user manual, but if someone may confirm that both processors will work same with the same code I really appreciate.
Regards.

Mike,
I have an MC68332ACEH16 design where I installed a MC68332ACEH25. The component is not able to lock onto the external 32.768KHz clock. Nothing has changed other than swapping devices. FW controls the clock divisor. As a test, I can insert an external reference in place of the crystal to allow it to work. The intent is for the -25 to be a drop in replacement.
Is this expected?
Hi Mike @Hui_Ma ,
We tried to get stock of MC68332ACEH25, but it is no longer available.
There is another option available which is: MC68332AVEH25.
Is that an option that doesn't require neither software nor hardware changes?.
Regards.
Hi,
The only difference of MC68332ACEH25 vs. MC68332AVEH25 is operation temperature.
There with no hardware and software change requirement.
Please refer below picture about the operation temp. range.
