Can anyone please tell me whether there is a GNU compiler for Coldfire MCF5485 processor? If not then do i have to use the compiler for any other nearest matching processor? Please help me out.
The GNU compiler I use is from CodeSourcery (www.codesourcery.com), you can download both WIndows and Linux versions from their website. This version of the compiler lists 5485 as a target.
CodeSourcery also sell an Eclipse-based IDE to go with their toolchain, which gives you access to their developers for support, or I have written an tutorial about how to install Eclipse and the GNU toolchain that you can find at http://www.cambridgeimaging.co.uk/wp_open-source-coldfire-ide.php.
