Assorted ethernet-capable coldfire chips (51cn, 52259) support a reduced 7-wire MAC/PHY interface when 10baseT is sufficient. Can someone recommend some PHY chips that support this interface, preferably in a nice small package? (I could only find the AMD chip in 80pin!)
This IS different than the RMII spec that I see on other new PHY chips, right? And none of the (smaller) coldfire chips support RMII ?

Looks like the DP83848 has it, but not the KS872. And the National datasheet gives me a new keyword for the feature ("SNI") Thanks!

Hi
Are the Micrel KS8721BL or National Semi DP83848I (both 48 pin QFP) suitable?
Regards
