CW6.3 Special Edition for Coldfire

I have the CW6.3 which came with my M52235EVB. I thought this had a non time limited special license for 128K. Now when I start up CW it says I have 25 days until the current license expires.

Do I have to register it?  No registration number came with EVB.

CodeWarrior for Coldfire V6.3 has not been released yet (as far as I know).

We do not provide registration code for bet software. You will have to wait until V6.3 is official to get your permanent license file.

With my EVB I got last month, I received CodeWarrior V6.3, Special Edition, Preview Release, Part No 770-75504 Rev A.

My understanding was that this was a 128K code limited version, with no expiry date. If that is not the case, how do I get the "fully licensed, complimentary Special Edition of the CodeWarrior Development Studio for ColdFire Architectures for development of applications up to 128Kbytes code size" as promoted with the M52235EVB on the freescale web site?

Will there be non beta software released before the version shipped with the EVB expires?

Hi,

I would suggest that you email your local FAE near to license expiry (around 5 days to go).

They can check whether V6.3 is about to release and if not arrange to issue a new 45 day license key.

Which country are you based in?

Do you already have a name of a local Freescale FAE? If not I can provide.

I get some news from product manager. Final release of 6.3 (targeted for 7/21) will come with a permanent special edition key.

The special edition software will also be uploaded to our CodeWarrior for Coldfire download page.

If you download and install an evaluation version of CodeWarrior for Coldfire V6.3, a special edition license is automatically installed in the root installation directory.

The special edition license is not available on the web. You are right.

I will contact marketing and check with them why it is not there.

Just an add on here.

The special edition will be installed automatically if you install Coldfire V6.3 evaluation software.

As the license if available in the installation, there is no need to place the license file on the web. Just install V6.3 and you should be able to use the special edition software.
