problem with windrvr6.inf !!

When installing the CW12_V4_6.exe, which is the CodeWarrior Development Studio for HCS12X Microcontrollers, the setup cannot be finished because of the following problem.

Failed to install the INF file(C:\Windows\inf\windrvr6.inf)

Eroor updating the driver(hwid:*WINDRVR6) with the INF file : cannot find the designated file.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium and I want to know the solution.

(I already did format and setup again to solve the problem, but ..)

Hello

CodeWarrior for HCS12 V4.6 does not support Windows Vista.

The future CodeWarrior for HC(S)12(X) V5.0 will support Windows Vista.

This release is planned for end of this year.

You may want to look at the following thread

Some people could install CodeWarrior HCS12 on Vista and provide some hints.

Note that Freescale did not validate the tools on Vista and we will not provide support for Vista specific issues when running V4.6.
