What to do once no interrupt to handle for XGATE?

Hi ,I wonder what to do while no interrupt to deal with for xgate module? Idle or sleep or active for NOP? thanks

9s12XE,   will  the xgate  keep running   afer enable, which means consume the power?  or, the xgate will automatically enter the sleep(standby) mode after the interrupt finished to save the power?
