Problem with CW10.6 and Multilink

Hi.

I´m using CW10.6 for program the MCU MC9S08DZ60 through Multilink (blue case).

With old Multilink (Red Case), I can download and debbug the program, but with the new Multilink, I have error:

  • Donwloading binary to target

I search in Internet and I think that this problem is caused for the warning L1912:

  • Object msCANStart overlaps with another (last addr: 0x1881, object addr: 0x1880).

But I don´t solve this warning.

What I should do for solve this problem? Can this overlap stop the debug?

Regards

Hi Pascal.

I update the firmware of CW10.6 and the firmware of multilink and now I can debug with multilink universal.

Thank for your help.

Regards.

Hi Javier,

A Multilink  - red case ... it should be the USB-ML-12

Did you used this interface with CW for MCU V10.6 ?

Multilink is a generic name used for P&E interfaces.

There are several versions:

    - USB-ML-12

    - USB Multilink Universal

    - USB Multilink Universal FX

Please let me know exactly the interface name and rev ?

The Multilink, Multilink Universal and Universal FX should work fine under MCU V10.6.4.

If you've problem I recommend you to have a look on:

     P&E Microcomputer Systems

If it worked with Mulilink it should work with Mulitlink Universal too.

If you've problem, please provide us more details.

Have a great day,

Hi Pascal.

The Multilink with red case is the USB-ML-12, and the multilink with blue case is the USB Multilink Universal.

The rev of both is C.

I´m using both interface with CW v10.6, but only with USB-ML-12 I can debug the program.

Which details you need??

Regards and thanks for help me.

Javier,

I've rev b of USB_ML-12 and Multilink Universal.

I'm using CW for MCU V10.6.4 with all patches installed.

I've created a project for my board which is based on S08DC-AC

When you launch the debug and a new driver is available the system will update the driver.

I can load and debug the same project with 2 interfaces without problem.

Do you use the same project to test the 2 interfaces ?

Possible problem with Universal rev C.

I know the MCU V10.6 introduced a problem with the P&E driver.

The driver is updated automatically if a new version is found.

Is it the same problem ?

Can you please have a look to the doc:

Problem with Multilink Rev C - not running after MCU V10.6 Update3 installed & CW for MCF V7.2

The last version is CW for MCU V10.6.4.

This is not an update as MCU V10.6.3 but a new release.

You can download it from our web site.

Have a great day,
Pascal
