I try to install the codewarrior 4.7 on my PC (running XP), but I get following message during the installation process:

"The InstallScript engine is missing from this machine.  If available, please run ISScript.msi, (etc...)"

I tried the same on a different PC, and I even tried to re-install the older version (4.6) which I still had on CD.  It all turned out to the same problem.

What can I do?

Problem solved.
The root cause was that on my PC, there was already an installation programme (called "InstallScriptMSIEngine" ) present.  This was apparently conflicting with the installation procedure of the codewarrior.  I simply removed the InstallScriptMSIEngine software.  After this action, CW installation succeeded.

If you can, try to download the free Special Edition of CodeWarrior for HSC12(X) from this page. If that works, then the CD might be bad. If that download fails to install, it might be that something has corrupted the standard installer software on the system. Also, are you running any virus-protection software that might be interpreting the installation as a virus trying to infect the machine?
