Francisco,

You're using CW for HC12 V4.5.

This version was released in February 2006.

The USBDongle license can not be used under Win 7 or Win 8 OS.

The last version for HC12 is CW for HC12 v5.1.

See below some information regarding the V5.1 release:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

CodeWarrior for HC12 v5.1 on Windows 7 with USBdongle.

  *********************

I performed some tests on my side with USBdongle and found the new driver we introduced some months ago (June 2011) is

not working for all CodeWarrior development tool.

Before the new driver was introduced (so before June 2011), the USBdongle worked on XP 32 bit only.

Now the new driver support all 32/64 bit OS so Win 7 too.

Unfortunately the USBdongle is not working for HC12 V5.1 under Windows 7.

I performed some tests on my side and I was not able to launch the debugger with an USBdongle.

The problem is linked to the Flexlm version used by the debugger to manage the license.

The new driver is working for Windows 7.

If you install it, the USBdongle will work for the build tool chain only.

So you could use it to build your application.

However the debugger is not compatible with this new driver - the debugger license can not be checked on the USBdongle.

Why ?

Products built with 8.4a of Flexlm (i.e. All of the classic products) will not be able to support win 7 64-bit with USB dongle licensing.

That support was added in 11.4 of Flexlm and our eclipse products moved to 11.5.

To resume, CW for HC12 V5.1 can be used on Windows 7 but not with USBdongle.

To avoid problem we recommend to rehost the license file to the DISK/HOST ID.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

CW for HC12 V5.1 is not fully compatible with USBDongle.

To avoid problem problem we recommend to lock the license on Disk/Host ID.

What about the older versions ?

The USBdongle can not be used on Win 7 and higher version with older HC12 tool.

Have a great day,
Pascal

Hi Pascal,

thank you for your answer.

A particular thing I do not get is that all the 3 usb dongle perform well on the pc of one my colleague who is running window 7, 32 bit the same as the mine, using CW for h12 v4.5 libraries, and the driver version 5.95.

"The new driver is working for Windows 7.

In my case, i just need to use it for the build tool chain, so i would like to solve the problem by this way.

I read in yr other post to put off internet connection when installing, that mean I can not update to get for example V6.64.

Question: When you say "new driver", what you mean?

Can you assist / explain me the process to lock license on Disk/Host ID?

Thank you.

regards

Hi Francisco,

Sorry for the delay.

You can not use the USBDongle for HC12 v4.5 under Win 7 / Win 8.

We've already problem with USBDongle for HC12 V5.1 under these OS.

The USBdongle is not fully working.

So for all older version than V5.1, it will not work.

You must re-host the license to Disk/Host ID.

Probably you're using an old registration.

If the registration was imported in the new web system you can rehost it on yourself.

Else we need to re-encrypt the license file manually.

To do that we need your current license and the new DiskID vol C:

Probably we should continue via Service Request - Private.

In this case you can create a SR or send an email with all information to support@freescale.com.

I will be in vacation this evening up to April 12th.

Attached you will find a temp license file.

Rename it to license.dat.

This license is not locked and will expire the May 15th.

Have a great day,
