MKL03Z with CodeWarrior

Hello,

I'm planning a project with the MKL03Z. So I've ordered the FRDM-KL03Z board for testing. The problem is that I can't create a new Project in CodeWarrior 10.4 for the KL03Z-family. There are only the KL02Z, KL04Z and KL05Z available. Is the KL03Z supported?

Hi Sven

The KL03 is a new part and these are supported by KDS [Kinetis Design Studio Integrated Development |Freescale] but not by CW10.x.

You can still build projects for the KL03 with CW but it is advisable to use KDS due to it containing the project/programming/debugging support.

I've downloaded the KDS 2.0 and have installed all updates. But the problem is the same as in CodeWarrior.

Adding new devices to KDS is a two step process: you need to download and install the Kinetis SDK first.

Once you have it installed, use the KDS/Eclipse updater to add the device support with Help > Install New Software. Point it to

C:\Freescale\KSDK_1.0.0-KL03Z\tools\eclipse_update\

and update Eclipse from the zip file there.

Then you have KL03Z support listed:
