I'm moving my development environment from a WinXP computer to a Win7 64bit computer.
I'm developing for 56F8037 using CodeWarrior Development Studio for DSC56800/E Version 8.3, Build 091203.
Do I have to use the Windows XP mode that is referenced in application note AN3936.pdf "How to install and run Classic CodeWarrior products on 64-bit Windows 7 PC"
Not sure if this is considered a "Classic" version of CodeWarrior.
Thanks,
Kirk

Hi Kirk,
To avoid problem the better way is to use the Win XP OS for DSC V8.3.
Now for DSC V8.3 we identified the problem which was linked to the CCS.
The CCS version delivered on DSC V8.3 is not compatible with Win 7.
To solve the problem we've created the AN4338.
This Application Note explains how to install the new CCS.
Under Win 7 you can install:
CW for DSC V8.3
apply AN4338
This configuration is working fine under Win 7.

Pascal
Please do not refer to 'AN3936'. For Classic CodeWarror v8.3, you can instll it directly on Windows 7, to support USBTAP debugging on Windows 7, user needs to install the new CCS update.
Please search 'AN4338' on www.freescale.com
You will get the CCS update, as well as the pdf document for the instrucitons to install the update.
That's good news, however please take a look at this web page:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CW-56800E-DSC
Under the Overview tab It says:
"*Note: This product is a 32-bit application.
To install and use it on Windows 7® 64-bit machines, see the white paper,
“Installing CodeWarrior Classic on Windows 7 (64-bit) “ in the Featured Documentation section."
Then if you look under the Documentation tab it refers to AN3936 under "Featured documentation":
Maybe I'm not reading it correctly. I do have a 64 bit Win7 operating system. Confusing??
Just wanted to double check.
Thanks,
Kirk

Pascal, TICS_Fiona,
This morning I installed V8.3 on my Win7 computer and followed the instructions in AN4338.
I'm able to build and use the USB-TAP now.
Thank you for your help,
Kirk
