Hello,

Will there be a patch for CodeWarrior to run on Windows Vista soon?  All new computers come with Vista, I need to upgrade my computer which runs Windows 98SE because CodeWarrior runs very slow on this computer.

Thanks

Hello
i attempting to run CodeWarrior Development Studio for Microcontrollers V6.0 and Metrowerks Codewarrior IDE V3.0 on my laptop ( under windows Vista basic).  on installation process, y both cases seem to install without any trouble, but, when i try to run (open a proyect, or create a proyect from proyect wizard, the software doesn´t work properly and it closes.  on internet i read about this problem and i found that it should solve removing it from windows firewall, but im still trying What can i do?.    plus, y want to know if CPROG08SZ  Command Line Programmer comes within Development Studio V6.0. (Professional version)

According to the CW for MCUs factsheet here, CW for MCUs 6.2 is compatible with 32-bit Vista. You need to upgrade.

but..... when?.........:smileysad:............when could we have in our machines the updated version that supports Windows Vista O.S. 64 bits?  I bougth a new machine with Vista 64 bits and the only program i used in XP and now I'm trying to use in vista 64b, and I can't,  is Codewarrior V6.2 for microcontrollers I'm Frustrated because I will participate in the SAMART CAR and I think it will be a really big problem.

I hope freescale team could solve this problem early....:smileytongue:

I got my laptop and I downloaded CW V6.0, it runs perfect on Vista. I used it for 12 days now. Seems to be faster, although I'm not sure if it's the laptop or the CW V6.0.

I did not notice any visual/significant changes, except for
- Some difference in adding components
- Yes, skip programing promt checkbox is back (the one that let's you select a programming adapter and other programming options))!

Great job!

p.s. this version still does not work with Windows XP 64-bit. I guess because there is no driver for the device. The installer gives an error and quits.

Hello

I can confirm that CodeWarrior MCU V6.0 has not been extended to support Windows XP 64-bit.

Yes, "they" seem quite happy to follow Microsoft's lead in dropping support at the older end. But as for the newer end.........
