Ronaldo,
In my own experience some of RS-232 to USB adapters don't handle some of the control lines of the DB9 adapter (RTS, CTS, etc). Unfortunately, the adapter's manufacturer says the device is fully compatible with the serial port (!!).
Solution: to get a new, really full compatible adapter.
Any one in this forum could recommend a model?
Hi Jorge,
Unfortunately brands don't mean much with this sort of stuff. A lot of times the "brand" is the company that took the device from the crate from China and put it in the hanger pack. My one (that I haven't tested) doesn't have anything written on it but I know it handles the handshake lines to some extent.

Hi Ronaldo,
The PC operating system handles the integration of the USB to serial converter so that it just looks like another COM port to applications. Older OS's may need a driver installed that comes with the adapter.
So Codewarrior doesn't have to know, sshhh!
Having said that the chances of it working are not very good as these adapters are not very good at implementing the short BREAK's used by the MON08 protocol.
