hi,
We are using Matrox Odyssey Xpro+(PowerPC 7447A) with CodeWarrior 6.6.
We installed Matrox Odyssey DTK and copied the related Plugins from Odeyssey folder to the CodeWarrior installation folder.
But when we are creating our new project using CodeWarrior 6.6 ,the wizard is not showing any processor type PowerPC7447 or PowerPC 7447A.
1.So what is the exact procedure to create new project using CodeWarrior6.6 which will run on Xpro+ board with PowerPC 7447A microprocessor?
2.We tried to modify some sample project which are given by the Matrox  for our reference. We just modified the sample code with our new Code.
Here also we are getting the following error-

"Link Error : Static Initializers must be called before 'main'.
please see '_ctors' in  _ppc_eabi_init.cpp for example'.

Please suggest us how to overcome this problem..

regards,
Prasenjit Das

hi,
We installed CodeWarrior 8.6 and followed the same procedure for copying plugins as per instruction in the Matrox Odyssey Xpro+ board manuals.
Then we tried to create New "Hello World" project.
There the power PC processor 7447A,7448 showing, but when we are seleting that processor, the Odyssey board is not coming.
So we had to Select 'generic' board type.
Anyway we set debugger as per instruction in the Odyssey manual.
But again when we r trying to run the program the following  error is coming...

"MatroxProtocolPlugin : Can't connect to Metro TRK".

Please give us advice. We are really facing immence problem regarding this.

I have too little information to help.

How do you connect to the Matrox board? Serial cable, USB? MetroTRK indicates serial. Does this arrangement match the Matrox documentation? What is CodeWarrior debugger's connection to the board? Note that this is not a question about the hardware, but what do CodeWarrior's debugger panels say they're connecting to?

Does the Matrox documentation mention what version of CodeWarrior to use, if it's used at all? You mentioned plugins. Are those showing up in CodeWarrior? (If they're supposed to?) Does the documentation say you can pick the board from the CodeWarrior wizard? If so, some of the Matrox software is installed wrong.

I'd suggest that you try downloading the CW for Power Architecture 8.7 evaluation edition and try it. I'm using the standard edition 8.7 edition and see the processor type you're asking about appear in the project wizard. The evaluation edition has some code limits, but it has enough features that you should be able to try it and determine if a lot of the problems you're seeing can be corrected by upgrading your tools. The download page for CodeWarrior evaluation software is located here.
