Letter box operation using g2d library on IMX

Could you please help to do letter box (add a grey canvas) based on g2d functions for IMX same chip-set? Need to copy image from input.jpg as is into 640x640 jpg, and if image is smaller, re-fill grey color as a canvas. I attached my souce C code, as a result I get only grey box (see fill_with_grey.jpg), but need to get like shown in needed_result_fill_with_grey.jpg.
Specific IMX chipset has been attached.
