Whats up with this? It seems that 08 an 12 have been merged?

Also it says code size of 16K - the 12 used have 32K is this still the case?

No, the HC12 is still separate.
For HC12, S12, HCS12X, XGATE and HCS12XE, the current version is CW for HC12 V4.6.

The new CW for MCU's is for HC08, S08, RS08 and  CF V1 "only".
I have to agree that the name is a bit misleading, well, I guess "just" naming it after the HC08 is not
appripriate either for a version which supports the CF V1, and naming all cores it support explicitely is a bit long.
I did actually find the special edition of the HC12 on the freescale webpage.

Ya, I found it too.
One of the links seems to be broken, but another seems to work.
I also noticed that there is now a Special Edition License.
Will this be required?

Is there any chance we can get it back on the special edition page?

I have students that may need to download it, and I just published materials that point to that page.
It's funny as for the longest time I admonished others to never publish freescale links because they move around too much, then I didn't follow my own advice...

Hello

CodeWarrior for HC12 V4.6 comes automatically with a special edition license after installation.
There is no need to download a special edition license any more as it is installed directly with the software.

Cat,
Well we all know thats how it has worked up until recently (past week or so?) until the HC12 version was removed from the special edition download page AND other links to special edition are broken.

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=CWS-H12-STDED-CX

There is also now a download for a special edition license
If you try to download the special edition from that page you will fill out the "what do I need this for" form and then get:

We're Sorry, ...
An error has occurred while processing your request.

The data you are looking for may have been moved to a different location on the site. Please go to the Freescale home page to search for or access this content.

So your only option is to download the Evaluation Version and the license. Now, perhaps the evaluation version is one and the same as the Special Edition - don;t know. It would be nice if freescale would clarify and or fix the links or make a statement as to the policy. As I said many students come this fall will be depending on this to complete their projects. I would like to try and settle this out by then.

UPDATE:
(I did find a link that seems to work elsewhere, but it sure would be nice if freescale would fix the above mentioned page AND add HC12 BACK to the Special Edition page)

Hello

I think I get it.

I assume you are trying to access the special edition through
    Freescale-> CodeWarrior Development Tools -> Downloads -> Special edition.Software.
You are right there is no link to the HC12 special edition license there.

I have notified our marketing team that this is missing and I asked them to put the link back there.

In the mean time you cannot use following link (which is working fine)

Thanks.

BTW That is the page where the link does not work. If you click the Special Edition link under "Featured Downloads" after filling in the form you will get the error message I show above.

However if on the page you referenced you click the DownLoad Tab, there is a link that does work.

Hopefully, they will put it back where it belongs.

I also submitted a service request...

I guess the question should be:

Is Special Edition for  hc12 no longer offered? It has been removed from the download page.
(this v6.0 seem to cover the entire 08 family)
