Thank you very much for the concise response, that certainly makes sense and helps a lot. As a follow up, is there any way I can determine how close I am to the 32K C limit at any point in code development, or do I just have to wait until I get an error message after trying a build? Can the size of the executable .S19 file (or perhaps some other file) serve as an indicator? e.g. If I examine the size of the .S19 file before and after a component is linked to the project, can I assume the change in size is the amount of C-based machine code which has been added, and is this code the basis of the C-code limit? Assuming that the .S19 file was less than 32K, does that imply that the C code must also be less than 32K, or is the C code size measured in some other way?
Please forgive these very basic (stupid?) questions, but CW and compilers are all new to me and I don't want to start down the CW road unless I can satisfy myself that I won't hit a wall after spending lots of time on development. If I have to, I can do all routines in assembly but that isn't what I want to do.
Thanks.
