For the last 10 years my manufacturing line has been using the 56800E Flash Programmer utility to program MC56F8356 DSPs. The product was developed on Codewarrior V8.3 and uses the USB TAP device. The 56800E Flash Programmer comes from that version of CW. It only works on 32Bit PCs.
Now I have to migrate the manufacturing systems to 64Bit PCs. I successfully converted CCS to 64Bit but it seems the 56800E Flash Programmer is stuck on 32Bit.
I downloaded and installed the evaluation copy of Codewarrior V11.1. It has a more recent version of 56800E Flash Programmer which appears to support 64Bit operation. However, this installation does not include a .CFG file for the MC56F8356 chip. I tried using the .CFG file (56835x_flash.cfg) from the V8.3 installation but it did not work.
Can anyone tell me where I might get hold of the correct .CFG file for CW V11.1 or what I have to do to the old .CFG file to make it work with the latest 56800E Flash Programmer?
Hi,
As I said that the 56800E Flash Programmer tools has not updated for a long time, if you want to work, I suppose that you'd better use Windows XP OS.
As an alternative, there is third party PROGDSC tools which is free of charge, but you have to order the Multilink Universal device, USBTAP device is NOT supported for the tools.

The PROGDSC supports MC56F8356
