Hi,

Can a windows version of the HCS08QG8 bootloader be made?  The dos prompt becomes hard to work with.

How difficult will it be to make a simple GUI for the bootloader program?

Thanks

Hi FC:

It should be pretty easy to write a windows GUI "wrapper" for the DOS program using
something like Delphi or Visual C if you have access to the bootloader's command line interface.  But writing a native windows bootloader might be really hard (depending on windows version) if it needs to use interrupts.   Since Win98, it has become harder and harder to interface directly with the hardware on your PC, and especailly the interrupt ports.

Lucky you,

the GUI already exists, it's being tested and will become a part of the next AN2295SW release. Unfortunately I don't know when this occurs.

Attached you may try this alpha version and give us the feedback on how/if it works for you.
