Hi All,

As per data sheet of MC9S08PA4 it was mentioned in the electrical characterstics that in stop3 mode the RTC with add <1uA of current to the existing current of the core i.e 5uA at 5V, but on checking on the custom board it was found to be 40uA.

Does anyone tested this no. or have sample code for acheiving this no.

Best regards,

Rohit Singhal

Hello Rohit,

When there are problems with current consumptions, one must first make sure that no IO pins are configured as inputs and left floating. They need to be pulled correctly, and if unused must be pulled low.

Besides, internal peripherals uses clocks, and clocks also consume current. Therefore is a good practice, to turn off all the modules that the application will not be using during the low power mode.

Peripherals current consumption adders need to be kept in mind, for the total current consumption during stop mode.

Please also check the Application note AN4441 How to Use Low Power Modes on the Newest S08 Devices; it has some recommendation that can help you.

Hope this information will be useful for you.

Have a great day.

David
