Q: What is “Medical Applications USB stack”?
A: Freescale’s Medical Applications USB stack is based on USB's Personal Health Care Device Class PHDC and IEEE-11073 and is compatible with Continua Host emulator software. This Medical USB stack enables microcontrollers with guidelines for Continua Health Alliance connectivity (http://www.continuaalliance.org/) and is a first step to test your application prior official Continua Certification.
A: As of September 2009 the featured documentation is a step-by-step User Guide (document S08CFV1USBUG) to get you running in short time and a comprehensive reference manual (document S08CFV1USBAPIRM). Application notes and trainings will be supplied soon.
A:The stack contains HID, PHDC, CDC and MSD. Personal Health Care Device Class (PHDC) is the key component that allows USB connectivity for dedicated medical applications.
A: General technical support on how to use the stack “as is” will be provided through our regular support channels (www.freescale.com/support). Support for customizing the stack is also provided. Due to the open nature of the stack, no support is provided for modification on existing classes or low level drivers of this stack.
A: IEEE 11073 provides structure to your communication interface.
• Defines commands to access data
• Structures data to be transmitted
• Defines communication states
