HC08 or HCS08 with CAN

Hi Guys,
I need to find a HC08 or a HCS08 with CAN for an automotive application but I am having some difficulty to find one. I need ideally Can, internal oscillator, and 28 or less pin count. I have looked at the automotive mcu on the Freescale site but none of them give you a datasheet, are they future development or something?
Is it me or Freescale (Motorola) are Complicating things again, I am finding the site very heavy?
the MCU I am trying to replace has the Can driver included on it does Freescale do any MCU with the Can driver still?
Best regards

DZ family will be available soon, or so I believe. It's listed on the automotive summary.

DZ has BDM :smileyhappy: It's cheaper than AZ :smileyhappy: and the 48 pin package is quite small

Hi Luis

The HC08GZ and HC08AZ families both have CAN, but are not available in as low as 28pins. Yes, the Freescale website is a bit hard to use to do "parametric" searches for micro features - download the selector guide http://www.freescale.com/files/shared/doc/selector_guide/SG1006.pdf instead.

I'm not 100% certain of the CAN spec but I doubt you will get CAN on a chip with an internal oscillator - you're refering to an internal RC oscillator I assume? - due to CAN requiring fairly tight timing accuracy.

Good luck
Colin

Hello,

The HC08GZxx family could be good for you, but take a look at the 9S12Cxx family, it's a little bit expensive but it's easier to debug with BDM rather than the MON08 (IMHO).
