PMIC on evaluation boards

Somebody knows why evaluation boards use a DA9053 PMIC instead of freescale MC13892 PMIC? Are there any problem with the MC13892 for this design?

Dialog don't have publish information about the DA9053 in the web. Also I don't find technical information, manuals, detail distributors or prices for this chip.

Thanks

Hello,

i'm not a "company" so i cannot request the DA9053 datasheet. I need to investigate on why the PMIC isn't powering the processor's RTC in my IMX53QSBs. No response from Freescale so far, i just wanted to see if there's any register in the DA9053 that controls that voltage and must be programmed with some value from uboot.

Ideas?

Hi, just thought I'd let you all know that there is a PMIC from Wolfson that supports the i.MX53. There are some designs in production using the WM8325 and the i.MX53.

Oh yeah, I guess a link to the LTC3589 datasheet would be helpful:

Dialog have now added a link so its possible to request a data sheet for the DA9053.

Take a look at Linear Technologies LTC3589-1. The i.MX53 System Development User's Guide has an example of how to use this PMIC with the i.MX53.

See section 5.3 of that document. You can download it here:

The 13892 can't meet the current spec requirements.

Freescale will have a PMIC of their own to support this processor in the near future.

Perhaps the MC34708FS is the ideal and final candidate to sustitute the MC13892 as PMIC on MX53 designs ?.

The only downside is that it is still under development and Freescale doesn't let us download a preliminary datasheet.

That's a pity.

I think the 13892 doesn't have the right default voltages and sequencing for the MX53. The 9053 is a better part for the job. You have to get the datasheet direct from them. http://www.dialog-semiconductor.com/
