This session introduces designers to authentication of USB devices, including use cases such as high power charger authentication over USB PD, and the solutions to threats posed by "Bad USB". Approaches covered will include pros and cons of vendor-specific authentication as well as compliance with emerging standards. Specific implementation examples will be discussed using NXP authentication products within the USB Type-C ecosystem.
