i.MX8 interlace format on HDMI out

Hi,

We'd like to know if i.MX8 can support interlace (1920x1080i59.94) output on HDMI out.

We found a patch for i.MX6 about supporting interlace.

We have MICIMX8M-EVK and want to try to use interlace out if we can have the patch.

we found a section and registers on the reference manual of i.MX8 at
 - 15.3.2.5 DTG Interlaced Video Timing Generator
 - 15.11.3.1.43 (INT_EN)

Don't these mean it supports interlace?
Accordign to these, we think it can be supported by modifying software.
or is there any limitation?
