Android Browser on iMX7D

Hello,

We are trying to run any android browser on iMX7D, but as its having no GPU /Accelerator support , we are unable to do so.  

Is their any alternative to run android web browser in iMX7D.

Thanks for the reply.

As you said,I have tested browsers like Firefox,QQ & UC browser, but the issue is still same in every case.

Its searching for opengl.

Hello Surya,

As you mention, the NXP Android BSP for i.MX7 does not support OpenGL. The Android default browser will invoke chromium webview which can’t work well without OpenGL ES 2.0 support. An alternative would be using other browsers which don’t need OpenGL ES support.

I haven’t tested but it is my understanding that Firefox, QQ and UC Browser can be used without OpenGL.

I like the i.MX7Dual, but not having a browser is a problem.
