I'm developing LS1021A-IOT board.

i followed bellow command for build. but it does not boot completely as bellow.

i did flash and copy the files to SDcard

   * u-boot-ls1021aiot.bin

   * uImage-ls1021aiot.bin

   * uImage-ls1021a-iot.dtb

   * fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot

I haven't modified any files. just downloaded and build sdk 1.7

followd "QorIQ-SDK-V1.7 Readme for LS1021AIOT for build"

what is the problem ???

Check the “/etc/init.d/rcS” file and “/etc/inittab” file in the LS1021A-IOT root file system. Use the following command sequence for unpack root file system.

  1. 1. dd if=fsl-image-core-ls1021aiot-20150709054849.rootfs.ext2.gz.u-boot of= fsl-image-core-ls1021aiot-20150709054849.rootfs.ext2.gz bs=64 skip=1
  2. 2. gunzip fsl-image-core-ls1021aiot-20150709054849.rootfs.ext2.gz
  3. 3. mkdir ./mnt
  4. 4. mount -o loop fsl-image-core-ls1021aiot-20150709054849.rootfs.ext2 ./mnt

Have a great day,
Pavel

Thanks for your reply...

i have some questions about this...

there are “/etc/init.d/rcS” file and “/etc/inittab” files  in the rootfs of fsl-image-core.

i used fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot before and it's loaded from sdcard by u-boot("fatload mmc 0:1 0x88000000 fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot;")

to use fsl-image-core file, should i changed the u-boot command ?

and could you explain more about above step 1~4 in detailed?

Thank you

dear freescale team

about reply of Pavel Chubakov, could you give me a guide to apply in my sdcard more detailed?

I don't understand completely.

u-boot still try to load ramdisk file like "fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot".

and need to modify u-boot as well?

thank you.

The Steps 1-4 provide unpack the fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot file. Check the “/etc/init.d/rcS” file and “/etc/inittab” file in the fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot file.

Your message shows about problem concerning to the fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot file.

dear freescale tem.

i'm still experiencing above problem.

I really wonder that is it only my problem or SDK1.7 errors?

i tried "fsl-image-core-ls1021aiot-20150709054849.rootfs.ext2.gz" file as well.

the file have “/etc/init.d/rcS” file and “/etc/inittab” but show other error messages

- can't open /dev/EHV0: No such file or directory

- can't open /dev/AMA0: No such file or directory

- can't open /dev/z6: No such file or directory

- can't open /dev/S0: No such file or directory

- can't open /dev/S1: No such file or directory

should i disable some Linux kernel features in menuconfig?

and I need to modify u-boot to use *.rootfs.ext2.gz file not *.rootfs.ext2.gz.u-boot?

Thank you

Could you test your board using NFS file system?

dear freescale team.

I really wonder that is it a only my problem i experience?

Or other developer is the same..

and LS1021A-IOT is designed to use ramdisk images.

if i use the .ext.gz files i should modify more source code in u-boot including bellow u-boot environment

"

# setenv bootfile uImage

# setenv fdtfile uImage.dtb

# setenv bootcmd 'setenv bootargs root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootdelay=5 console=$consoledev,$baudrate;mmcinfo;ext2load mmc 0:2 $loadaddr /boot/$bootfile;ext2load mmc 0:2 $fdtaddr /boot/$fdtfile;bootm $loadaddr - $fdtaddr'

# save

"

You have to use fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.tar.gz file instead of RAM disk for SD card file system(fsl-image-rds-ls1021aiot.ext2.gz.u-boot).
