The Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple is a prominent Hindu temple located in the town of Srinivasa Mangapuram, near Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and is considered one of the important pilgrimage sites in the region. The history of the Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple dates back several centuries. According to legends, it is believed that Lord Venkateswara, after marrying Goddess Padmavathi in Tirupati, visited this place along with his divine consort to seek the blessings of his mother, Goddess Mahalakshmi. Hence, the temple is also known as "Srinivasa Mangapuram," which means the abode of Lord Srinivasa. The construction of the temple is said to have been initiated by a local chieftain named Thondaman Chakravarthy in the early 13th century. Over time, several kings and devotees contributed to the expansion and beautification of the temple. The Vijayanagara kings, especially King Achyutaraya, played a significant role in the development of the temple complex.During the rule of the Vijayanagara Empire, the temple gained prominence and attracted a large number of devotees. It continued to flourish under the patronage of subsequent rulers, including the Nayakas and the Marathas.
