Compatible camera module for MIMXRT1050-EVKB in 2021?

I understand that similar questions have been asked previously:

However, that was in 2018, before the pandemic disrupted the supply chain.

The MT9M114 camera module was known to work with MIMXRT1050-EVKB, but it's hard to find nowadays. Even NXP's MIMXRT1064-EVK, which would include the camera module, seems to be out of stock.

Here are my questions:

1. Where can I buy the MT9M114 camera module now? Or, where can I buy MIMXRT1064-EVK that comes with a camera module?

2. What are the alternative camera modules that can work with MIMXRT1050-EVKB, and are easily available now? The resolution should be VGA or above.

Hello Rsun,

Both mentioned cameras should work. However, given the overall situation of the semiconductor industry there is not an easy answer as where to find them.

I would recommend checking with different distributors, albeit it could be that no one has stock for the near future.

You could find a different camera and adapt it to the EVK, but the models listed on the posts you shared would be the cameras which are ready to be used with the EVK. The problem adapting a new camera would be not only to make the hardware and software changes required but also the availability, so it wouldn’t be a trivial task.
