Could you tell me all main differences (licence, easy interchanging with processors, etc.) between Linux and winCE?
thank you very much
There are many differences between both Operating Systems since always have been consider the opositive one from another, let try to give you a comparation :
WINCE | Linux |
---|---|
All distributions has a cost in their License | All distributions are for FREE |
MIcrosoft Support Direct under some Cost | Community Support by FREE |
Interchangeability only for Support Processors from Microsoft | Basically all Architecture of Processors are Supported and easy to build with MAKE file Cross Compiling supported |
Multimedia Packages under DirectX | A lot of different option of Frameworks, freescale use GSTREAMER |
Codecs need to be compatible with DirectX | CODEC support by the Framework. |
Drivers review and approved by Microsoft less possible of bug since more deep testing | Drivers provided by the Linux Community many people testing and contributing not an allign testing official process. |
Let me know if you have another question
Have a great day,
Jaime
