imx8mp evk kernel 6.1.36: m7 stops when linux kernel boots, seems to be a clock issue.

We have a m7 issue on the imx8mp, which we could replicate with the evk-board and the evk-image with the kernel version 6.1.36.

We start any included m7 binary in ram in u-boot with the bootaux command and everything works. When we start the linux kernel the m7 stops.

If we add "clk_ignore_unused" to optargs in uboot the m7 keeps running and everything works fine. It seems like a clock gets (temporarly?) deactivated. We only see this with kernel version 6.x, with 5.x everything is fine.

the m7 runs on the sys_pll1 clock in the example binaries, which should not get deactivated, so we dont know what is going on. Can you help us here?

Thanks

Hi @kaihus ,

I hope you're doing well!

Please try with our latest BSP release (6.1.55_2.2.0) found at Embedded Linux for i.MX Applications Processors | NXP Semiconductors.

Let me know if the issue still persists after this.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Hector.
