iMXRT1172 SNVS bank -ON/OFF pin function query

Hi,

We are using the iMXRT1172 in one of the battery application project. In my project to put iMXRT1172 in SNVS mode we are using the ONOFF pin (Ball no: U10) 

We just want to know if the ONOFF pin is independent of the execution code incase if the firmware gets stuck internally. I should be able to use the functionality of emergency off using the ONOFF pin.

Please confirm that the ONOFF pin is independent of the execution of code.
