iMX8MP m.2 Key M Support

Hello, I know that the iMX8MP CPU supports m.2 key E wireless modules, but we have a use case that requires m.2 NVMe Key M PCIe SSDs for extended storage. Does the processor support this?

I understand that there is no SATA controller on this processor, but PCIe is at least supported...

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products,

As @art said, we don't have a Serial ATA to communicate nor SMBus, and also, as you said, you could only enable PCIe, but this is the third fact:

The following is a list of features supported by the PCI Express controller:

• Supports Root Complex (RC) and Endpoint (EP) configurations

• Maximum link speed up to Gen3 (8 GT/s)

• x1 link width

You could only support one out of ~6 types, PCIe module and PHY of 8M Plus' doens't support 4.0 speeds nor x2 and x4 widths, you'd limitate to use NVMe modules that work with PCIe 3.0x1 only.

If you're looking to work with serial interfaces, you should check on LS MPUs.
