Does anyone else notice that with the latest BSP (11.09) the QSB now hangs about 10-20% of the time when pressing the power button? When this happens *nothing* is output on the serial console, so it seems like u-boot is failing somewhere before serial initialization.

Does anyone have any ideas/experience with this? Can we use the latest official u-boot (ie have the relevant patches from the ridiculously large set of patches from u-boot 2009.08 been upstreamed)?

Hi,

There are some issues with the 11.09 BSP, as far as I know.

If you can check the posts, in this imxcommunity, you will find many issues, patches.

I am sure that I read one post, where they were thinking to update a new version with all the patches included on freescale page itself.

Right now, I cannot post the links here, but I can tell you that, there is a link and all the patches & procedures listed in this community itself.

If you want to install/ make a fresh build, then you need to clear all the packages from the /opt/../..  directory also. But this is not required as far as I know, because I have made installation 6 times so far with the LTIB, but they remained the same.

I've done that three times now, removed old files, re-downloaded and completely re-installed. :)

I'm not sure how ltib does installs, but I noticed the u-boot-v2009.08-imx_11.09.01.tar.bz2 here: http://auslxsc01.mtwk.freescale.net/ppp/ had the patches missing as well. So maybe ltib installed for me and my customer from there and yours got installed from  L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source_bundle/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source/pkgs/?

I'm not sure how to force it to install from one or the other, maybe based on a network connection or not?

I've heard others have the problem as well, while some don't. Our customer started "clean" and saw it. We each downloaded the BSP late last week, so maybe it somehow got hosed? I also used uboot directly from the Freescale opensource repo and it didn't have all the patches, so maybe I got caught in a maintenance cycle or something. I've asked for clarification and hopefully will hear back soon as to what was going on.

Randy: I think something may have went wrong with your original 11.09_01 install.  I checked and my /opt/freescale/pkgs/u-boot-v2009.08-imx_11.09.01.tar.bz2 and L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source_bundle/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source/pkgs/u-boot-v2009.08-imx_11.09.01.tar.bz2 are exactly the same.

I would recommend either re-installing 11.09_01 or just copy all files from L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source_bundle/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source/pkgs/ to /opt/freescale/pkgs just to be safe.

My problem was I did not see the extra patch set on the freescale website that Krishna Pavan pointed me to.  Now the board is working great again.

Yes, but you still need to be careful to copy uboot patches like I described above, or Enrique's patches won't apply successfully, hope this is updated soon in the BSP so the copy won't be necessary.

There’s patches missing from my /opt/freescale/pkgs/u-boot-v2009.08-imx_11.09.01.tar.bz2 and the one here has them missing as well: http://auslxsc01.mtwk.freescale.net/ppp/

The one here ->”/media/mydata/11.09/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source_bundle/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source/pkgs” looks ok.

I just copied “/media/mydata/11.09/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source_bundle/L2.6.35_11.09.01_ER_source/pkgs/u-boot-v2009.08-imx_11.09.01.tar.bz2” to “/opt/freescale/pkgs”. Then I downloaded the patch set for 11.09 and applied those patches to uboot ( instructions in the archive ), rebuilt and everything boots fine 100% of the time now.
