Hi,

Referring to the MCIMX6SLEVK schematics, can we remove the ICs U21,U22,U23 and U31 circuitry if not using LCD signals for any other purpose other than Booting ?

I believe we can directly connect the BT_CFG nets to the 4.7KOhm resistors, will it cause any harm ? please comment.

Thanks

From Table 1-2 (EIM recommendations for developer’s boot modes)
of the Hardware Development Guide for i.MX 6SoloLite :

“Isolation buffers are required because 6SoloLite pads

can be set to 1.8V or 3V logic levels while boot signals

require 3V logic level to latch the boot settings.

Any pull-ups for boot configuration line must be properly

isolated because there is a chance that the system may

use 1.8V logic levels.”

Hi Yuri,

I understand that isolation buffers are necessary when the Boot signals are muxed to be used for some other interface as well (say interfacing a LCD to the processor).

"If not using the boot signals (LCD_DAT0 - LCD_DAT23) for any other interface, in that case can we avoid the isolation buffers?"
