Hi there.
I'm currently developing SOMs based on the IMX8MM SOC for embedded use cases.
I'm concerned about potential ROM versioning issues; can some of the SOCs be outdated, which could expose my SOMs to random bugs?
I looked online for some information on ROM versions. Apparently, there is only one ROM version, labeled 'A0 (1.0)', which is reportedly used on all IMX8MM chips.
I guess this means I shouldn't experience any weird issues; could anyone verify this assumption?
Furthermore, I've read the IMX8MM_0N87W errata and noticed a mention of a 'v5 ROM patch'. How many versions like this exist, and how can I check which version my SOCs have?
Kind regards,
Luke
Hi @lstimpert
I think there is no need to worry about the ROM version, as mass-produced chips are all equipped with the latest ROM PATCH.

Hi @Harvey021
Appreciate your quick reply.
From your message, I understand that there's only one ROM version.
Can you confirm this and that bugfixes are only released through ROM patches?
If that's the case, is there a publicly available changelog for these patches?
I'd like to verify that my chips are up-to-date, as some of them were purchased a while back and I want to make sure they have the latest fixes.

hi @lstimpert
Yes, one ROM version. There is no public changelog for ROM patches.
ROM patch V5 is the latest version.
