I Would like to consult i.Mx8 series chip support external expansion of LPDDR4 and emmc, such as MIMX8QX6AVLFZAC.

The i.MX8 PLUS processor supports expandable memory options through the use of external memory interfaces such as DDR or LPDDR. To expand the memory of an i.MX8 PLUS device, the user must connect an external memory module to the device's memory interface. The external memory module must be compatible with the i.MX8 PLUS memory interface specifications and should be purchased from a trusted source.

Before purchasing a memory module, the user should consult the i.MX8 PLUS datasheet for the device's memory interface specifications and requirements. Once the memory module is connected, the user can configure the device to use the additional memory through the device's software or firmware.

i.MX8QXP supports LPDDR4 with maximum density of 4GB.

Since the i.MX8QXP is compliant with eMMC System Specification v5.1, it supports up to 128GB density for eMMC as per standard specifications.

I have found the LPDDR4 evk board on the nxp official website, which uses MIMX8ML8DVNLZAA +  6 GB LPDDR4（Micron MT53E1536M32D4DT-046 WT:A），Which chip has the largest DDR capacity supported by imx8 series and how much memory is supported.

By the way, does imx8 series have naming rules similar to the ones shown in the picture below? Can you provide them?

i.MX8QXP and MIMX8ML8DVNLZAA are both different processor from i.MX8 series.

Please refer to the above-shared link. One can refer to the Reference Manual of each processor for max memory support.
